The $1000 Naismith Hall High School Senior Scholarship is awarded annually to 10 graduating seniors who will be attending the University of Kansas as a full-time student during 2019/20 Academic Year. They must also be signed up to live as a resident at Naismith Hall, a privately owned Residence Hall serving students attending KU. This scholarship is open to graduating seniors (regardless of academic standing).
It is a one-time award payable to the recipient when he/she arrives on campus for the fall semester. The scholarship is intended to assist with housing costs for their freshman year at Naismith Hall. It has been established to reward a high school student who is a positive role model and has demonstrated both academic achievement and citizenship through their high school and greater community service efforts. Preference will be given to candidates that have strong leadership and/or service experience in a student, professional, educational, or philanthropic environment.
Applicants for the Naismith Hall Scholarship must submit both of the following:
- Copy of your “official high school transcript” certified by your high school
- Cover letter addressing:
1. Your future academic and career goals at The University of Kansas
2. How you have served your high school and community through activities/ clubs/ and community service activities
3. How the scholarship will positively impact your goals at KU
All applications must be submitted by APRIL 1, 2019.
